Here is this weeks deliverable map as specified and answers to the exercise questions.
Q1: Which tool did you use? I used the intersect tool.
Was there any noticeable difference between its results and the results from the instructions?
The graphic in the instructions looks as if the lake and stream buffer boundaries were dissolved but in the analysis per instructions and in this new analysis they are separate 150m and 500m buffers.
Q2: Which tool did you use here? Why? I used the erase tool after reading the description and looking at the diagram. All of areas I was interested in were outside the conservation areas, my erase feature.
Q3: How many features are in this layer? What is the area of the largest feature? What is the area of the smallest feature?
Total: 79 features,
Largest feature: 1918.77 ac. (7765034 sq. meters)
Smallest feature: 0.18 ac. (748 sq. meters)

I did a little research on the location of the provided data and decided to add some context to the map. I was able to locate and add the DEM, shaded relief and primary roads layers as well as a key map for the area of interest in Mississippi.
